A nice day trip that can be done from Stresa and lake Maggiore as well as from lake Orta is the visit to another well-known Italian lake named Como.

There are several pretty little towns located on this lake, including the major centre which is a big town with the same name as the lake: Como.

You may decide to visit this town and then enjoy a scenic boat ride as far as other resorts located along the Como branch of the lake. Or BlueTaxiStresaOrta can drive you as far as Cernobbio, Tremezzo and Menaggio. The exclusive little town of Cernobbio is very pretty and along the lake, in a beautiful setting, you can find the famous Grand Hotel Villa d'Este. Further up are Tremezzo where visitors can discover the beautiful Villa Carlotta with its spectacular gardens and the nice town of Menaggio which lies opposite Bellagio.
