Lugano is a nice and elegant town that gives its name to the well-known lake. Two-thirds of lake Lugano are located in Switzerland and the smaller part in Italy, very close to Menaggio, Bellagio, Tremezzo (resorts on near lake Como). The town of Lugano has a good position, between two nice mountains: Mount Bre and Mount San Salvatore whose tops can be reached by funicular. Two interesting buildings to visit are the cathedral and the church of Santa Maria degli Angioli, this one located by the lakefront. The nicest street in Lugano is via Nassa, that was once the fishermen's street. Nowadays via Nassa is the most elegant street in Lugano, all pedestrian, where you will find nice shops and boutiques, cafés and very nice buildings.

Just a few minutes' drive it is possible to reach the Italian border: the central part of celebrated lake Como (Menaggio, Cadenabbia, Tremezzo, Bellagio) otherwise by highway via Chiasso we can reach quicker the town of Como.
