You will be picked up at your hotel / town and transferred in a private vehicle to the town of Arona. Free time for your visit and shopping and then transfer to the Hills to see the big statue. Return to your chosen destination / hotel
The driver will be able to give you all the useful information but he is NOT a tour guide. Passengers will be visiting their chosen destination on their own
One of the nicest towns on lake Maggiore is Arona, located at the southern end of lake Maggiore, on the western shore in Piedmont. Arona is a lively town by day and by night, especially in summer. In Arona are many bars, restaurants, shops, nightlife options.
A lovely promenade along the lake, a pedestrian street in the old town as well as interesting old buildings. Among the churches, the most important one is the collegiate Church housing an important painting by Gaudenzio Ferrari dating back to 1511. Another important building is the old Palace of Justice built in the 13th century.
A stop in the Hills behind Arona will allow you to discover the huge copper and bronze statue dedicated to San Carlo - St. Charles Borromeo - built in the 17th century. It is 35 meters high!
